The reason sweet potatoes are so great for fat loss is that of the numerous benefits they give us that help us lose fat. Sweet potatoes have a relatively low glycemic index, so it will help to keep your blood sugar from spiking after you eat [1]. Plus, they digest slowly and are full of fiber, so they will help you control your hunger by making you feel full. Sweet potatoes also contain manganese, which helps to boost your metabolism [2].

Sweet potatoes don’t just help you feel full longer, but they also are very healthy for you as they are full of Vitamin A, C and B6, as well as minerals like potassium, magnesium, iron, and calcium. These vitamins and minerals support healthy bones, blood pressure and blood cells [3].

By simplifying your diet and cycling your carbs around sweet potatoes, you take the guesswork out of your meals. Eating healthy doesn’t have to be complicated and shouldn’t be stressful. Your meals should be easy to make and plan out.

If you find yourself struggling to get over your fat loss plateau, you can break through it by changing all of your carbohydrates to sweet potatoes for 7-10 days. Not only is this simple, but it gets you back on track to achieving your fat loss goals.

  1. I love this! I love sweet potatoes, and so does my toddler but I always avoid eating them because I thought they would make me gain weight. I will be trying this soon. Thank you so much for your programs, supplements, your advice, your articles and for being an inspiration to many of us. Love you!

  2. How many of this meals per day?

    • I’m wondering how many meals per day?? Or total calories?

      • Those stats are not the same for every person. When we design a custom meal plan for you we ask you lots of questions in order to gather the information we need to find out the amount of calories and total macro percentages you require for your goals. That being said, I need to know much more about you in order to answer your question

  3. How do you recommend preparing the Sweet potatoes?

    • There are many methods to prepare your sweet potatoes and I prefer a variety from dicing them and cooking them in coconut oil, to making sweet potato hash (Both Varieties), one is made with cinnamon and the other with spices such as smoked paprika, onion, peppers, parsley, black pepper, and garlic. You could also cook them in the microwave, oven, and steam them. The possibilities are endless. I would recommend you try a few ways and see what you like best

  4. You eat such a meal for breakfast too?? Does sauteed spinach with eggs count?

  5. You have Saturday on here twice. Is Sunday a high or low carb day?

  6. is this breakfast too? Thanks for the blog. Will def try this!

    • Yes, you can make sweet potato hash using olive oil and cinnamon or coconut oil. Cook up some eggs (1 Whole, 2-3 whites) with veggies

  7. What snacks in between meals?

    • Depends on your macro needs and what you’ll need to get from your snacks that are not in your meals. I often snack on the same foods I eat in my meals. You could snack on nuts, jerky, veggies, etc.

  8. so you eat sweet potato every day? Just less on one set of days with more fat? I thought carb cycling was no carbs some days?..

  9. I’m trying to figure out the difference between yams an sweet potatoes. Can you please help? I always understood that yams are dark orange and sweet potatoes are a creamy white or yellow. I’m new to this and I’m really trying to get on track. Thank you.

I want to hear from you
